Gold Metallogenist, Geological Survey of Canada
New Geoscience: Research and Knowledge for Exploration
Dr. Christopher Lawley has been working as a gold metallogenist with the Geological Survey of Canada since 2012. During that time, Christopher has led a variety of research activities that integrate field and laboratory datasets to define and map the hydrothermal footprint at a number of world class gold districts. His research experience ranges from conventional whole-rock geochemistry to the analytical method development and application of radiogenic isotopic analytical techniques (Os-Pb) as chronometers and tracers of hydrothermal processes related to gold. Statistical programming has also become a key area of Lawley’s current research due to the shift towards big, multivariate datasets that require new approaches for analysis and visualization.
