Dr. Kevin B. Heather

Dr. Heather has 40 years of field experience in North and South America. He received a BSc. (honours) degree in geology from UBC (Vancouver, Canada) in 1982, a MSc. degree in geology from Queen’s University (Kingston, Canada) in 1985, and a PhD. degree from the University of Keele (Keele, England) in 2001.  In his current position at Regulus Resources, Dr. Heather is responsible at a corporate level for overseeing the technical aspects of the company’s exploration activities.

As a founding member of Antares Minerals Inc. he directed the exploration that led to the discovery of the high-grade Haquira East deposit in Southern Peru, and was involved in the overall development of the Haquira Cu-Mo-Au porphyry project; which sold to First Quantum Minerals in December 2010 for C$650 million.

Previously, Dr. Heather held senior Geoscience positions at the Ontario Geological Survey, the Geological Survey of Canada and Barrick Gold when, in 1997, he was credited with discovering an eight hundred meter extension to the Indio Sur 3500 vein at El Indio.

Dr. Heather is a Fellow, Councillor, and Honorary Lecturer for the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) and is co-founder and Chairman of the charity “Fundación Mineros Contra El Cancer”, a Chile-based charity dedicated to helping economical vulnerable children with cancer and their families.
