A Canadian who has worked in Mineral exploration for both junior and major international mining companies for over 30 years in North America, Chile, Peru and Mexico. She holds a B.A. in Geography from the UWO (1978) and a B.Sc. in Geology from UBC (1981).
Joey started working in Peru in 1994, conducting project generation and property evaluations for many Canadian and Peruvian companies. She was the QP for Arequipa Resources through the discovery and sale of Pierina to Barrick in 1996.
In 1997, she co-founded Candente to explore and develop copper, gold and silver projects in Peru and Mexico. Since 2001 she has guided acquisition, exploration and resource delineation on both the Cañariaco Copper project in Northern Peru and the El Oro Project in Mexico.
Ms Freeze sits on the Advisory Board of the Institute of International Development at McGill University and has taken several Executive courses there to understand better the history of International Development and how mining projects can best benefit local communities starting from the exploration stage.
She is registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, Canada (APEGBC) and previously served as a Trustee to the Society of Economic Geologists.
