John Robins

Mr. Robins is a professional geologist, prospector and mining executive with over 30 years experience in the mining industry. His career has focused on northern project exploration and development. In 2008, he received the Spud Huestis award for having made “a significant contribution to enhance the mineral resources of British Columbia and the Yukon, through the original application of prospecting techniques and geoscience technology.” Mr. Robins was the founder of Kaminak Gold Corporation and served as the company’s first president and as its Executive Chairmain throughout Kaminak’s 11 year history. Mr. Robins lead Kaminak through the transition from being a “grass roots explorer” to developer.

In 2010, Kaminak discovered the Coffee Gold deposit, which today contains over 5 million ounces. In 2016, Kaminak published a robust feasibility outlining the production of approximately 2 million ounces of gold over a ten year mine life. In June of 2016, Kaminak was the subject of a $520 million dollar takeover by Goldcorp; the largest mining takeover in Yukon¹s history. Mr. Robins was also the cofounder of Hunter Exploration, Stornoway Diamond Corporation, and the Discovery and Aurora Group of companies.
