Regional Chief Geoscientist – North America, Teck Resources Limited
Roundup 2018 Theme Session – Think Zinc!
Lucas Marshall graduated from UBC in 1999 with a BSc (Honours) in Geology and a minor in Commerce. Early exposure to the minerals exploration industry, including Zinc exploration in the Purcell Basin, convinced him to ride out the post- Bre-X exploration lull by taking up Ph.D. studies at James Cook University between 2000 and 2003, where he studied IOCG systems in Queensland. Lucas returned to Canada and joined Teck Resources Limited in 2004, attracted by the company’s status as a diversified miner, leading to broad exposure to copper, gold and of course zinc systems on 5 continents.
