Tamlyn Botel is currently acting as the Technical Lead of the Territorial Stewardship Department at the Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly (CNA). Her department is responsible for the regulatory and environment related aspects of a Participation Agreement between eight Nlaka’pamux communities and Teck Highland Valley Copper (HVC). She joined the CNA in 2015 upon completing an internship in the Environment Department at HVC. In addition to site-specific knowledge Tamlyn also brings a deep sense of connection to the land, rooted in her Nlaka’pamux heritage. Tamlyn holds a B.Sc. in Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria.  Tamlyn is passionate about the confluence of western science and indigenous knowledge and how they can be used to empower First Nations to make decisions about natural resource development in their territories.
