Variability in grade is a common issue in most ore deposits even if it is not recognised in the early stages of mine development. However, nowhere is it as much of problem as it is in gold deposits. With the decline in discovery rates attention has focused on marginal deposits, many of which show a great deal of variability. From the laboratory perspective the most frequently asked question is how to deal with a nuggety gold deposit. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with tools to develop proper sampling plans and to choose appropriate sample preparation and assaying methods. The impact of those choices in preparing resource estimates will be discussed as will the metallurgical approaches needed to assess recoveries.
Please note this in an interactive workshop and you may be asked to turn on your camera & mic.
Short Course moderated by Hugh de Souza, guest speakers to be announced soon.
