MineralsEd is an industry-supported educational organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting BC teachers and students learning about Earth Science, mineral resources and mining. 2019 marks the 16th year MineralsEd has partnered with AME at Roundup to host educational programs at the conference.
MineralsEd aims to help build a well-informed public that better understands and appreciates our modern minerals industry and all it provides in our daily lives. MineralsEd has supported more than 9,100 teachers and impacted more than 815,000 K-12 students province-wide by providing:
– Teacher workshops
– Teaching resource kits
– Field trips
– Student workshops
– Guest presentations
– Conference and educational events
Each day at the Conference, MineralsEd hosts a tailored experience with educational tools for a variety of groups. Secondary students will attend on Monday, for a program of talks and activities around career exploration. Tuesday’s program focuses on teachers with a program tailored to professional development in areas of Earth science, mining and careers. Elementary Roundup Rockhounds attend on Wednesday to experience hands-on learning activities and a guided exploration of the tradeshow.
Conference attendees can support MineralsEd with a donation made through the conference registration system. As a non-partisan, charitable organization, donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt.
