In 2021 the online version of Roundup will be hosted from the unceded territories of the Coast Salish people, including the lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ /Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. People will be joining the conference virtually from afar this year and so we acknowledge participation from the traditional territories of Nations throughout BC, Yukon and beyond.
Now in its 9th year, the Gathering Place provides a welcoming space for respectful dialogue and open communication. A place where participants can learn from each other about building mutually beneficial relationships between Indigenous groups and those involved in mineral exploration and development. A place to share stories of success, of challenges, met, and lessons learned.
The online version of the Gathering Place will be a 90-minute session, consistent with the conference format of Roundup this year. Despite this change to adapt to our current situation in BC, the Gathering Place remains a unique opportunity that will attract a broad range of Roundup attendees.
AME encourages mineral explorers to foster respectful relationships through early and meaningful engagement with Indigenous groups to move forward with successful mineral exploration and development. A mineral project that is understood and supported by Indigenous people is on track for success. As in past years, the Gathering Place will facilitate discussions with interesting and engaging leaders from Indigenous Nations, government, and industry. They will share their perspectives in an earnest and open manner. We hope to see you there!Register Now
