Dr. Evan Orovan joined the British Columbia Geological Survey (BCGS) in mid-2020. Over the previous 5 years, he held an Australian Research Council Fellowship in Ore Deposit Footprints at the CODES Centre of Excellence in Ore Deposits, University of Tasmania, where he specialized in porphyry-epithermal-geothermal systems, hydrothermal geochemistry, ore deposit vectoring and fertility, and igneous petrogenesis. Evan holds an Adjunct position at CODES, where he will continue to supervise postgraduate students as well as collaborate on a variety of international research projects. At the BCGS, Evan is responsible for technology strategies, method development, and enhancement of geoscience databases and applications relevant to mineral potential mapping. Evan will also provide expertise in mineral systems and economic geology research.
