President and Director, Elim Mining
John Antwi is a mining executive with over 29 years of experience in Mine Technical and Financial Services with a knack for identifying the potential of geologic assets. He is a value driver with expertise in achieving strategic, operational, and financial goals for junior, mid-tier, and senior mining production companies. John is an innovative senior executive that implements portfolio optimization initiatives and advances project development opportunities to support corporate strategic objectives. He began his career by rendering geological services for Anglogold Ashanti in Ghana and progressed to top-performing leadership roles in Newmont and Klondex Mines. He recommended growth initiatives that resulted in a wide range of acquisitions, including a multi-billion-dollar transaction and some asset optimization deals in the United States and Canada. Until the acquisition of Klondex Mines by Hecla in 2018, John was the Senior Vice President for Corporate Development and Planning for Klondex.
John currently serves on the American Exploration and Mining Association (AEMA) board and is the founder of Elim Mining Incorporated, a private British Columbia corporation. Mr. Antwi has a bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering from KNUST, Ghana, and Masters in Mineral Economics from Colorado School of Mines.
