Mitch Mihalynuk

Senior Minerals Geologist, British Columbia Geological Survey

Mitch has over 40 years of experience in geological mapping and resource evaluation in British Columbia, much of it in the remote and mountainous northwest. His interests include the genesis of volcanogenic massive sulphide and porphyry Cu+ deposits, and their plate tectonic/paleogeographic settings. Over the past decade, his work outside of the BCGS has focused on correlating mantle and plate-scale crustal fabrics (tomotectonics). Mitch’s extensive work at the BCGS has included mapping projects in northwest BC, south-central BC, the Nicola Arc, and the Kootenay Arc.
