Discovery Day is FREE family fun! Experience mineral exploration and mining and the technology that makes it possible in a hands-on, interactive day of learning, getting kids excited about STEM in BC.

Each year, the AME Roundup Opening Ceremony sets the stage for the conference and for the year ahead. This signature session will provide an overview of mineral exploration and mining activities in British Columbia, Yukon and Alaska in 2026, followed by an address from Premier David Eby.

Join us for lunch and a keynote address by Tom McCulley, Chief Technical Officer at Anglo American. Ticket required.

Students participating in the Soapbox Talks will deliver 5-minute snapshots of their research and results on stage.

Successful Canadian mineral exploration and development are essential to prosperity, sovereignty and providing the minerals that the world needs. This session addresses major policy issues impacting the industry today and lively discussion about the future of mineral exploration.

This session covers a broad region in western North America with a diverse geologic history, covering exciting and innovative exploration programs across a range of commodities and deposit types in BC, Yukon and Alaska.

AME is where talent is discovered. This popular networking event is designed to bring together students and industry representatives, giving students a chance to ask questions, make connections and grow their networks.

The Poster Display is Canada’s premier venue for dissemination and examination of applied mineral deposit and exploration geoscience research. Hosting presenters from leading government, academic and industry research organizations, the Poster Display facilitates the sharing of pioneering work on the genesis and distribution of mineral resources throughout Canada, and beyond.

The Poster Display also enjoys participation from graduate students working at universities across Canada and around the world, and AME is proud to promote the excellent work being done by the mineral deposit community. In addition to presenting cutting-edge research, student contributors will be competing for the most innovative, interesting and accessible economic geoscience presentation of the year.

This event will connect mentors and mentees to have an in-person chat, networking opportunities, tips on how to make the most of your AME Roundup experience and a keynote from Anne Thompson, President of PetraScience Consultants Inc.

Curiosity drives discovery in mineral exploration, but its value extends beyond technical problem-solving. It encourages us to ask thoughtful questions, listen deeply, and engage with different perspectives — skills that underpin effective communication and collaboration. Through personal career reflections, lessons learned from hosting the Discovery to Recovery podcast, and participant interaction, this presentation aims to inspire and challenge you while supporting the development of strong and effective mentoring relationships.

Successful geoscience is at the core of successful mineral exploration and discovery. The Advances in Geoscience technical session showcases geoscience initiatives that are developing and delivering new ideas and understanding of the Cordillera and its mineral potential.

Each year, the financial landscape for mineral explorers and developers is reshaped by global forces. The Commodities and Financial Markets session brings together industry leaders to reflect on issues of business risk, capital raising and commodity trends, and to share their outlooks on the metal and mineral markets.

The Precious Metals session aims to support and inspire explorers on their journey from discovery to production, showcasing evolving and established precious metal-rich projects and operations. This years’ session will highlight: a range of regional and generative concepts, project and operations scale exploration successes; Canada’s newest commissioned Arctic region precious metal mine; and finish with the exploration strategies and innovations leading to the largest gold mineral reserve in Canada.

The Gathering Place is long-established as a leading forum for discussing mineral exploration’s evolving role in reconciliation. It features case studies and in-depth discussion from a variety of perspectives and project stages.

AME’s “Pioneers” (formerly “Old-timers”) are at least 70 years of age and have made a significant contribution to either AME or to the BC mineral exploration community. The AME Pioneers’ Lunch at AME Roundup is the premier social gathering of the year for this special group.

In the closing session of The Gathering Place, we will explore the evolution of Nation-industry relationships and government regulations.
