Health and safety are top priorities at AME and part of our core values. At AME Roundup 2022, we want everyone to have a “Safe Day, Every Day”.

Your conference. Your way.

AME Roundup 2022 will be both an in-person conference at the Vancouver Convention Centre West and an online conference hosted on Whova, a leading conference platform.

Registrants have the choice to purchase a full pass for in-person and online access to the conference, or an online-only pass to experience the conference fully online. There are options for every level of comfort. Ticket options can be found here.

Health and Safety for In-person Attendees

The physical conference sessions will be hosted at the Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) West. A description of the safety protocols the VCC has in place can be found here: Welcoming You Back, Safely. At this stage, the VCC is operating at 50% capacity with enhanced safety protocols in place.

Like all British Columbians, we are monitoring the evolving public health situation closely. Following the latest provincial health orders and venue safety protocols, AME Roundup is going ahead as planned both in-person and online. Our priority is to provide a safe environment for all members of the mineral exploration community to connect with friends and colleagues at AME Roundup 2022.

The AME team and contractors move into the VCC on January 28, 2022, to begin setting up for the conference. AME will abide by all public health orders in effect on that date for the duration of the conference, or any more stringent protocols that are put in place during the conference.

Be prepared to wear a mask at all times unless seated in an area designated for eating and drinking. Wash and/or sanitize your hands frequently, maintain a safe physical distance between yourself and other attendees and stay home if you are not feeling well.

Layers of Protection

As provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry has repeatedly said, our protection against COVID-19 relies on “layers of protection”. We are working closely with our host venue, the VCC who are following provincial health guidelines and have these layers in place:

  • Proof of vaccination requirement
  • Mandatory mask requirement
  • Hand sanitation stations throughout
  • Large, open spaces configured for safety and ventilation
  • High-efficiency filtration systems
  • Enhanced cleaning
  • Reminders to stay home if unwell

In addition to these, AME and the VCC are installing layers of protection beyond the provincial requirements, including:

  • Daily health check upon entry
  • Barriers and floor markers to ensure physical distancing in line-ups
  • Medical masks are recommended and available on site if needed
  • Self-selected “traffic light” comfort level stickers to indicate comfort with interactions
  • Optional on-site COVID-19 testing
  • Larger rooms for seated events to accomodate increased physical distancing
  • Socially distanced seating in technical and conference sessions
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of speaking halls between sessions
  • Daily deep clean using electrostatic sanitizer

AME COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

Attendees at AME Roundup are required to abide by the health and safety rules of the conference. AME Roundup will be guided by industry standards, emergency orders, health orders, and recommendations made by the Canadian, British Columbian, and local governments.

AME requires all in-person attendees at AME Roundup to be fully vaccinated – including delegates, exhibitors, volunteers, AME staff, and contractors and consultants who interact directly with delegates and/or exhibitors.  This policy applies to conference set-up, registration, programming, and teardown. Attendees will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and one piece of government-issued photo ID to enter the VCC. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged to participate by attending the virtual version of the conference.

Contractors and consultants who do not interact directly with delegates and/or exhibitors will be permitted to enter the venue with a daily, on-site, negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test at their own cost. COVID-19 rapid antigen tests will also be available for in-person participants on a voluntary basis.
