Volunteer Program
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for AME. Please fill out the application below to express interest. We will be in contact with further shift scheduling instructions if your application is accepted in October.

In return for your commitment to working a minimum of 12 hours + a 2-hour orientation, AME will provide:
- Complimentary individual membership to AME with access to a variety of industry networking events throughout the year;
- Complimentary AME Roundup 2025 conference registration.

Volunteer Positions
Conference Host
Conference Hosts will be assigned roles such as Floor Traffic Coordinator, Conference Registration, Information Booth Attendant, etc.
Tasks include:
- Providing delegates with conference activity information and directions
- While stationed in exhibit areas, providing delegates with directions to technical sessions and additional conference information as requested
- Assisting with registration activities as required
Skills required:
- Customer service experience
- Outgoing and patient
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to take action quickly and efficiently
- Ability to support and work well with other staff and volunteers
Events Volunteer
Events Volunteers will be assigned roles such as Special Events, Short Courses, Technical Sessions, etc.
Tasks include:
- Greeting delegates and taking tickets and/or checking names off the check-in list
- Monitoring attendance and counting number of people in the events
- Assisting with event set-up
Skills required:
- Customer service experience is an asset
- Personable, assertive with good communication skills
- Upbeat and positive nature to pleasantly greet all delegates
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to take action quickly and efficiently
- Ability to support and work well with other staff and volunteers
Educational Volunteer
Educational Volunteers will be assigned roles such as Elementary Student Guides, Assistant to Yukon Dan Gold Panning Station, Rock and Mineral Exhibit Helper, etc.
Tasks include:
- Guiding small groups of students throughout the conference exhibits
- Accompanying and helping students with hands-on workshops
- Engage students in conversations and answering their questions
Skills required:
- Preference given to those with previous experience volunteering with MineralsEd
- Previous experience working with children
- Patience and ability to communicate well with children
- Interest in teaching children and helping them learn
- Outgoing with good communications and leadership skills
- Interest in sharing your enthusiasm for geology and teaching young learners
- Background in geology
