Mark Gibson

Mark Gibson is an experienced geoscientist with over 34 years of experience in the natural resources sector. He was instrumental in shaping Ivanhoe Electric’s early stages, including the building of the first Typhoon™ geophysical transmitters in 2011, the formation of Kaizen in 2013, the strategic partnership with Cordoba in 2015, and the joint venture with SAMA Resources in 2018. He currently serves as the Chief Geophysics Officer for Ivanhoe Electric and sits on the board of the company’s data processing subsidiary, Computational Geosciences Inc. Prior to Ivanhoe Electric, Mr. Gibson worked at Anglo American and founded a geophysical service company specializing in seismic surveys for the mining industry. He holds an M.Sc. in Geophysics from the University of Leeds and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology from the University of Southampton. Mr. Gibson is a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) in British Columbia and also holds a Pr.Sci.Nat (Professional Natural Scientist) designation with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions.
