An Exploration of Resilient Minds®: Building the Psychological Strength of Mineral Explorers and Remote Workers

Meeting Room 17
Ticket Required
Tuesday, January 23
2:00pm – 4:00pm

Presented by: Canadian Mental Health Association

This overview of Resilient Minds® will shine a light on the compelling case for this psychoeducation and evidence of the positive impact of this course on participants.

Resilient Minds® is a practical, skill-building course that teaches participants to:

  • Recognize the effects of psychological stress/trauma on self and peers.
  • Communicate with peers who may be struggling.
  • Respond promptly, safely, and appropriately to distressed citizens.
  • Apply personal strategies to managing stress, mitigating trauma, and boosting resilience.

Adaptations of Resilient Minds® for environments that pose a high risk for mental health challenges include Wildland Fire Fighters, Volunteer Fire Fighters, Indigenous First Responders and Emergency Operators. This is the first adaptation directed toward natural resource industries.

Registration is closed; for further information, contact Jonathan Buchanan at [email protected].
