Summary: The “Golden Triangle” of Northwestern British Columbia is one of the best-endowed provinces for gold, silver and copper in the world. In this short course, participants will be provided with the latest knowledge on the geology of the Golden Triangle and it’s mineral deposits. A series of technical talks and posters on the geology and mineralization of various deposits will be given including Red Chris, KSM, Galore Creek, Brucejack, Dolly Varden and others.
Participants will have an opportunity to get “hands on” the deposits with representative suites of mineralization, alteration and host rocks from several of the deposits. The course will help participants understand the setting and characteristics of these world-class mineral deposits, how they formed, the characteristics of mineralization and host rocks, and exploration criteria.
