This course provides a comprehensive overview of the development and evolving purpose of benefit agreements in Canada, examining their current and future roles in resource development. Participants will review recent legal, regulatory, and social changes that shape the structure and negotiation of these agreements, as well as the dynamics between proponents, government, and Indigenous groups.
Led by instructors with direct experience in major industry negotiations, the course will use group discussions and stories inspired by real-world situations to address complex challenges and provide practical strategies for effective, adaptive, and equitable agreements.
