Bernard Wessels

Managing Director North America, Newmont

Bernard serves as the Managing Director for the North America Business Unit, where he is dedicated to the safe, efficient, and responsible integration of the newly acquired Red Chris and Brucejack operations in Northwestern British Columbia, following the Newcrest acquisition. Additionally, Bernard is currently overseeing the strategic divestment of four legacy assets in North America, ensuring a smooth transition and positioning the business for future growth. Before his appointment as MD North America he held General Manager roles at mines in Mexico, Ghana and South Africa. He also served as the Vice President of Productivity in Africa for Newmont.
