David (Zoom) Szumigala is currently employed as a Geologist IV in the Mineral Resources Section of the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys. He has spent over 45 years conducting mineral exploration and mineral systems studies in the western U.S. and Alaska at scales from grassroots regional programs to mine feasibility drilling projects. He has worked on exploration projects in most regions of Alaska. Zoom was part of the discovery team for the world-class Donlin Creek gold deposit.
