Sabrina Lakhani was born and raised in the Northwest Territories and now contributes her expertise to operations in Northern British Columbia. She specializes in building meaningful, positive relationships between mining operations and local and Indigenous communities, with a focus on creating shared value. In her current role, Sabrina leads the Social Performance Department at Newmont’s Brucejack Operation, where she oversees community engagement, development initiatives, and Indigenous relations in BC’s Golden Triangle.
With extensive experience across northern Canada, Sabrina brings a deep understanding of the social dynamics surrounding resource development. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Queensland’s Sustainable Minerals Institute, where she studied at the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining (CSRM). She is currently pursuing her Executive MBA at Queen’s University, further strengthening her leadership in sustainable mining practices.
